The "I See You Awards®" is an annual celebration of low-budget independent filmmakers.  It is a one-of-a-kind awards program created by Terri Lee Chandler, the film critic for WWJ Newsradio 950, Detroit's only all-news radio station.

Terri's movie reviews can be heard every Friday at 12:20 pm. EST during WWJ's Midday Show.  You can also hear and/or read her reviews here.

Terri is a member of several professional associations, including the prestigious Critics Choice Association, the largest film critics group in the United States and Canada, which produces the annual Critics Choice Awards.  She is also a member of the African-American Film Critics Association, SAG-AFTRA and the National Association of Black Journalists.

Terri also speaks to schools, groups and at special events.  Below, she speaks to a group at JVS Detroit.

Terri was personally selected to interview actor Curtis Armstrong, pictured above.  Perhaps best known for his roles in the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies and in "Risky Business," in which he starred alongside Tom Cruise, Armstrong paid a visit to his alma mater, Oakland University, to donate a treasure trove of material from his illustrious career.  Read Terri's article here.

Terri is a multiple award winning journalist.  Her most recent award is "Best Newcast," awarded by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) for producing the Midday news announcing the death of Aretha Franklin.

Terri is also an independent filmmaker herself, so she knows firsthand the challenges that independent filmmakers face as they work to bring their projects to the big screen.

After spending years trying to  bring her first  feature to the big screen, combined with  years of reviewing films for all of the major Hollywood studios, Terri noticed that there was a void for low-budget independent filmmakers, and she realized that they needed and deserved to see their hard work, sacrifices and dedication recognized and rewarded, so the idea for the "I See You Awards®" was born.

Terri is also the host of the podcast, Terri Talks Movies.
