TITLE VII: Exploring the Effects of Same-Race Discrimination

Nicole Franklin

TITLE VII takes us into the life of Hillary Kelsey, a powerful and successful black woman, constantly being reminded to stay in her “place”. As the CEO at Sanger International, an IT consulting firm, Hillary surrounds herself with many employees...yet, none of them look like her, and no one understands why.

But one day, when her 9:30 a.m job candidate enters the building, not only does he challenge her thinking, but he turns her world upside down.

In her narrative feature directorial debut, Nicole Franklin pulls down the fourth wall and gives us a rare look into the world of same-race discrimination. Franklin is an award-winning filmmaker and published writer. Her credits include The Double Dutch Divas!, Journeys In Black: the Jamie Foxx Biography, and Kids Around the World. Not to mention, for sixteen years, Franklin’s company EPIPHANY Inc. has been producing independent films for numerous cable networks.

TITLE VII is one of the entrants in the 2nd Annual I See You Awards®.
