Dress Rehearsal is the second screenplay credit for the film's director, Michael Boston, who also stars in the movie. His previous writing credit is for 1997's Little Boy Blue.

Dress Rehearsal follows Abner (portrayed by Boston) as he struggles to make a living as an actor in Los Angeles. While Boston has numerous acting roles on his resume, Dress Rehearsal marks his directing debut.

As a director, Boston says "I can never be afraid to tell a story that captures real life. Life has its challenging periods for all of us. As a writer, and now a director, I feel a responsibility to show us in our most anxious moments but never closing the door on hope."

Dress Rehearsal is one of the entrants in the 2nd Annual I See You Awards®.
