"Respect," the highly-anticipated feature film that chronicles Aretha Franklin's rise to fame, is now in theaters following a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
To celebrate the movie's release, actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, who stars as Franklin in the film, joined director Liesl Tommy on a promotional swing that took them to several big cities across the U.S. When the two stopped in Detroit, I See You Awards® founder Terri Lee Chandler had the opportunity to sit down with them for an interview on Monday, August 2, 2021.
