Want to Know What it’s Really Like to Work in Hollywood?

Make plans to attend the 3rd Annual I See You Awards® Industry Seminar!

Hollywood Veteran Tom Hines to Speak

When the members of the I See You Awards® Planning Committee were deciding who to invite to speak at this year’s industry seminar, the name Tom Hines just kept coming up. Why? Because Hines is the perfect example of someone who managed to carve out a successful career in Hollywood doing what he loves: making movies. And now, he’s anxious to share his knowledge and experiences working with some of the biggest names in the industry with up-and-coming indie filmmakers.

For more than 20 years, Hines worked for Hollywood legend Gary Marshall, known for the long-running TV shows Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and numerous others, as well as a number of big screen projects, including Raising Helen, The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Runaway Bride and more. So, needless to say, Hines learned a lot during his two-decade long career in La La Land.

While working for Marshall, Hines also started getting more involved in his own independent film projects. For example:

Chronic Town, a feature he directed in 2008, was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival. And if that’s not impressive enough, the movie went on to win two awards: the Festival Director’s Award at Method Fest, and the Gerald Hirschfeld Award for Cinematographer John Samaras.

Hines has numerous other projects to his credit as well – as an actor, writer, producer, director and/or various other positions, including:

Writer - 2016’s Mother’s Day starring Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis.

Director – Alleged, starring Nathan West, Colm Meaney, Ashley Johnson and Brian Dennehy.

Director – Ballbuster, starring Jerry O'Connell, Elisabeth Rohm and Luenell. The film is due to be released in July 2019.

Actor - CSI Miami; Raising Helen; Runaway Bride; Los & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman; The Young and the Restless; and Dear God, starring such Hollywood heavyweights as Greg Kinnear, Laurie Metcalf, Hector Elizondo and Roscoe Lee Browne.

Indie filmmakers who want to know what it’s really like to work in the rigor of Hollywood, would like advice on breaking into the industry, how to improve their craft, get the attention of industry leaders and more, should definitely make plans to attend Hines’ presentation. There will also be a Q&A session that’s sure to be enlightening and fun!
