We Stand With You During This Difficult Time

Amidst the outbreak of the coronavirus, as creators ourselves, we want the creative community to know that we are standing with you during this difficult time. With productions shut down all over the world, there are hundreds - if not thousands - of creative industry professionals who are currently out of work.

As a service to the industry we love dearly, we wanted to do something to help. So, we decided to compile a list of resources that have been set up to provide assistance to members of the creative industry during this difficult time.

Event Creators

We can't remember a time when it's been more apparent how much events of all kinds are such an important part of our everyday lives. From film festivals to our very own awards program, to concerts, sporting events, school gatherings, trade shows and more, all of these events are currently on hold and plans for future events are currently up in the air.

The planning professionals at Eventbrite have put together a list of resources which includes useful information that event creators can turn to for information and advice during this troubling time.

SAG-AFTRA

With productions all over the world on hold until conditions improve, SAG-AFTRA knows that its members will face even greater hardships than usual. To help their members who may be facing difficulties at this time, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation has partnered with the Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund to create the COVID-19 Disaster Fund to aid SAG-AFTRA members impacted by COVID-19.

If you're a SAG-AFTRA member and you're interested in getting more information and/or applying for assistance, click on the link above. For anyone interested in contributing to the fund, information is provided there as well.

Working from Home

If you're new to working from home, the New York Times published a very informative article on how to do it right. Some of us like it and some of us don't. But, either way, this article can help. Thanks to The Hustle for sharing, which is how we found it!

Screenwriting Tips

If you're a screenwriter, or an aspiring one, you probably have more time now to focus on your craft. So, once your masterpiece is done, you'll want to submit it into some festivals - and the I See You Awards® of course - to help it get noticed!

Our friends at Final Draft have just the thing for you! The free ebook: "How to Win a Screenwriting Contest," which you can download right here!

Now that you're ready to write, you'll want to make sure your script is industry standard. Nothing stands out worst than a sore thumb than a script that isn't formatted properly. Final Draft has all the tools you need to help you get it right. Click here for all the details and to get 20% off your purchase through March 31st! You can also download a free 30 day trial of Final Draft and start writing for free.

News and Information on COVID-19

To keep up-to-date on the latest news and information surrounding the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, you can visit the website of our sponsor and favorite radio station, WWJ Newsradio 950. There you can keep up-to-date on the latest information surrounding the disease and also listen online. WWJ works closely with CBS News to provide up-to-date information around the clock.

Also, this past Friday, Google launched a dedicated page which provides specific information on COVID-19.

We know that this list is by no means an exhaustive one. We are sure that there are many more resources available. If you provide a resource and/or know of a resource that would be valuable to others, please share it with us and we'll do our best to include it in a future post.

Stay Safe

Whatever you do and however you spend your time, stay safe, stay strong, and know that we are standing with you during this difficult time.

We see you.
